AmCham signed a cooperation agreement with the Mediterranean Anglo-American Business Network (MAABN), an existing business organization for Marseille-Provence region.  Under the agreement, AmCham and MAABN will exchange information to strengthen and promote trade and investment between the U.S. and France.  Members of each organization will have access to the events and activities of the other.  MAABN and AmCham France will co-host at least one event each year.  (At the inaugural event on November 27, AmCham Managing Director Griffith spoke on Franco-American relations under the new U.S. administration.)  AmCham and MAABN will also promote each other as the primary source of Franco-American professional contacts in each other’s region (MAABN for Marseille-Provence, AmCham France and its chapters for the rest of France), and exchange information on each others' web-sites and elsewhere.

Mediterranean Anglo-American Business Network (MAABN) was created to reinforce and support Franco-Anglo-American business and cultural relations in Marseille and the surrounding community.  Founded in September 2004 with support from the US Consulate in Marseille, MAABN’s vocation is:  to develop an international platform of mutual support and business networking; to federate, accompany and advise expatriates returning to France, as well as foreign executives; and to drive and organize the network’s business-oriented events and share companies’ intercultural experiences.  MAABN regularly holds conferences and informal, English-only, “Language Apéros.”   The former association MABN and its British equivalent, the LINK (L’Alliance Franco-Britannique) have recently merged, to become the Mediterranean Anglo-American Business Network (MAABN) to consolidate the Anglo-American business community’s networking efforts in the region.

· “MAABN ??

Yes, MABN (Mediterranean American Business Network) and The Link (L’Alliance Franco-Britannique de Provence) are joining forces this month to form the new business network MAABN (Mediterranean Anglo-American Business Network). This merger will enable MAABN to consolidate the Anglo-American business community’s networking efforts in the region and offer our sponsors and members a rich and diverse network of contacts, as well as a lengthy programme of corporate events for the forthcoming year ...

· MAABN represents AmCham France in Marseille-Provence




MAABN signed an agreement with the American Chamber of Commerce in France at the Language Apéro on 27th November 2008 and became AmCham France’s sole representative in Marseille-Provence. The partnership has opened up new opportunities for both MAABN and AmCham France enabling both organisations to strengthen and promote trade, as well as enable their members to benefit from both extensive networks, as well as attend each other’s corporate events.

Ø “Language Apéro”:
MAABN organises the « Language Apéro » on the last Thursday of every month. An enjoyable way to meet fellow business men and women in a relaxed atmosphere and to talk business over a drink (ALL in English!). Participate in a Management Communication activity, often in the presence of personalities such as Ambassadors, Consuls and others who are invited to speak.

The team thoroughly looks forward to seeing you all again at the first in this year’s series of Language Apéro which will take place on Thursday 29th January 2009 at 6.30pm at la Bo[a]te, 35 rue de la Paix-Marcel Paul, 13001 Marseille.
